I can’t tell you that I’ve never had a problem in the past 32 years, I can tell you that when one comes up we do what it takes to solve it quickly and correctly. We truly care for our customers and their happiness.

William Calhoun – President, Better Home Exteriors

My name is William Calhoun. I grew up in Houston, TX. I am the eldest of six brothers and sisters.

I began working for my dad, Cecil Calhoun, in 1978 at the age of 15. I passed out flyers door to door for his company which installed the Alcoa trim system. The system is designed to cover all the exposed wood primarily on eaves, overhang, fascia, and window and door trim; in short all the wood trim on brick and stucco homes.

The year I received my driver’s license I hired my friends to help pass out flyers. It was my first opportunity to hire, train, lead and manage a marketing staff. Our business grew rapidly and by 1982 I was running multiple marketing groups and my dad had become the largest Alcoa dealer in the nation.

In 1987 my dad moved our family to Southern California to be closer to his parents. In 1994 he founded Better Home Exteriors. I joined his company in 1998 as a salesman.

That same year Better Home Exteriors was selected by Alcoa to be their sole Master Contractor in Orange County and Los Angeles County. At this time we are their Sole Elite Contractor. My Dad retired in May of 2008 and I purchased the company from him.

In spite of these tough economic times Better Home Exteriors has experienced a double digit increase each year since 2007. I attribute our consistent growth to the diligent pursuit and training of quality employees in whom I instill and who share my vision of outstanding customer service. We see every day as an opportunity to be better than the day before.

With the hiring of my son, Carter, in 2009 I am proud to pass on my dad’s vision of the highest standards of Alcoa installation and exceptional customer service to a third generation of Calhouns.

Troy Morgan – Project Manager

I am Troy Morgan your Better Home Exteriors’ Project Manager. I am California native born and raised in Santa Cruz. You will be seeing a lot of me during the fabrication and installation stages of your exterior remodel.

I have been in the building trade all my life. I began framing homes when I was 15 years old. I spent three of those years framing in Hawaii. Eight years later I graduated to dry wall installation. I then worked for a company that did complete interior remodels of dentists’ offices, averaging 5 per year.

Prior to coming to work at BHE I spent 18 years installing high quality, vinyl windows and doors. The final 12 years in that business were spent training and supervising installation crews.

I have spent most of my life in the great out of doors surfing, snowboarding and mountain biking. I even taught ski school for 2 seasons in the Rockies. A 2 week vacation in Hawaii turned into a 5 year stay. Working for BHE I am able to combine my well honed building-trade skills, supervisory and training techniques and customer service values with my love of the great outdoors. I couldn’t have a better job!

Shannon Weatherford – BHE Comptroller

Hi there, I am Shannon Weatherford and I am the comptroller for Better Home Exteriors. Although you might not ever meet me you will see my fingerprints on most everything to do with the company. I take pride in making sure all the i’s are dotted and the t’s are crossed which makes your remodel run smoothly and efficiently!

I am a true southern girl born in Alabama and raised in Texas before moving to California. I have been a resident of Orange County since I was a teenager. I graduated from Edison High School in Huntington Beach and attended Orange Coast College.

I have spent 20 years in the mortgage financing & home improvement industries. I have been blessed to utilize my specific skill set while working with my father, Cecil and my brother, Billy. They share my same enthusiasm for customer service, attention to detail and professionalism.

Although I might be a southern belle my heart is in California. It is great to live in a place where I can step out of my front door with my son, Tommy and participate in some of our favorite hobbies hiking, biking and walking my American Bulldogs on our beautiful beaches.

Carter Calhoun – Outside Marketing Manager

I’m Carter Calhoun and I am the Outside Marketing Manager for Better Home Exteriors. I, or somebody on my marketing team, will likely be the first face you see from BHE. And I take pride in making sure that first impression is a positive one.

I was born at Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach so I am a true son of Orange County. I graduated from Canyon High School in 2009. I was proud to be a member of the varsity football team for four years. I garnered 2nd team all league defensive lineman my junior and senior and seasons and was elected team captain my senior season.

I am following in my father’s and grandfather’s footsteps by starting my career at BHE in the marketing department. Three months after joining the company in 2009 I was promoted to manager of the outside marketing team. I take this responsibility seriously having some pretty big shoes to fill. I strive every day to lead my team in an enthusiastic and professional manner just as my father did and his father before him.

The lessons I am learning and the training I am receiving are already transferring into my academic life. I am earning top marks in my business and finance major at Orange Coast Community College and plan to transfer to a four year school next year. And someday I hope to buy the business from my dad and carry on the family tradition.

I am proud to be the third generation of Calhouns to serve greater Orange County with the best products and service Better Home Exteriors can offer!

Ashly Carlson – Inside Marketing Manager

Hey everyone, my name is Ashly Carlson and I am the Inside Marketing Manager for Better Home Exteriors.

I was born in Salt Lake City and raised in Winnetka, Illinois, a small suburb of Chicago. That makes me the lone Yankee of the BHE family which I take pride in!

I love my job at BHE. My position entails working with you the customer and coordinating with every aspect of the company including outside marketing, sales and installation. I am able to bring all my God given people and organizational skills to serve you the customer and my BHE family.

I graduated from New Trier High School. I did very well academically. I was selected to the Varsity Debate Team and excelled in tennis. I was Illinois state tennis champion and achieved a national USTA ranking. I received a full Division 1 tennis scholarship to the University of Cincinnati. I later transferred to the University of Bradley to focus on my Sociology major with a focus on gender and race ideology.

I have lived in Southern California since 2006. I am a member of the Beach Cities Community Church in Huntington Beach and perform extensive volunteer/mentoring work in Orange County.

Away from the office I like spending quiet time with my fiancé, Jake, reading philosophy and poetry.
